Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said Ron Brooks will be Philadelphia’s first-team slot cornerback entering training camp.
Brooks filled that role in 2016 before tearing his quad in Week 7.
Heading into the 2016 season, the Eagles signed both Brooks and Leodis McKelvin to fill needs in the secondary. The duo previously played under current Philadelphia defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz in 2014 for the Bills, but their scheme familiarity did not translate to on-field production.
Brooks struggled under Schwartz last season in Philly, earning a 46.
