The Eagles claimed former Philadelphia Soul defensive end Jake Metz off waivers from the Buffalo Bills on Wednesday, giving Metz a chance to play the final preseason game in the uniform of his hometown team.
It was a similar situation to last season, when Metz signed with the Eagles after the Arena Football League ended. This time, the Souderton and Shippensburg product arrives from another NFL team. Metz, 26, played all three preseason games with the Bills. He has three tackles.
Metz is 6-foot-6 and 265 pounds. At this point, it’s unlikely he’d factor into the picture for a roster spot.
