The Eagles signed running back Kenjon Barner to a one-year deal Tuesday, bringing back a player who was on the team’s active roster the last two seasons. He takes Darren Sproles’ spot on the roster and can make a quick transition because of his background with the coaching staff. He will provide depth both in the backfield and in the return game.
Barner, 27, played 23 games for the Eagles in 2015 and 2016. The Eagles did not use a restricted free agent tender on him this offseason and he signed with the Los Angeles Chargers, who cut him earlier this month.
