Eagles, Ben VanSumeren agree to one-year contract

The Philadelphia Eagles and exclusive-rights free agent Ben VanSumeren have agreed to a one-year contract, according to a report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

This news is an incredibly unsurprising development; it would’ve been a major shock if the Eagles didn’t tender BVS.

Here’s what we wrote about his outlook back on March 4:

BVS is an exclusive-rights free agent, which means the Eagles will offer him a one-year minimum contract tender and he’ll sign it because his alternative is no longer playing in the NFL. It remains to be seen if BVS will miss offseason practice time while recovering from his injury.
