After the Eagles used their first four picks in this year's draft on offensive players, the Eagles bolstered the secondary in round six, selecting Auburn's Blake Countess with the 196th-overall pick. The Eagles moved back eight picks and added an extra seventh-round pick (240 overall) in the seventh round.
At 5-10, 185 pounds, Countess has experience at both corner and safety. As a graduate transfer from Michigan, Countess started at outside corner in his first three games with the Tigers. He then moved to safety for the remainder of the season, racking up a career-best 71 tackles in his only season at Auburn.
