Eagles add CB, safety, DE and LB in last two rounds of draft

The Eagles traded back in the sixth round and still picked Auburn defensive back Blake Countess, a player the team targeted in the pre-draft process. Howie Roseman called him a “favorite player of ours” who can play both cornerback and safety.

Countess, who was not invited to the combine, is a little shy of 5-foot-10 and 184 pounds. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.46 seconds at his Pro Day.

A former top recruit from Owings Mills, Md., Countess began his college career at Michigan before transferring to Auburn as a graduate student last year. He started 15 games and had 71 tackles and two interceptions with the Tigers.
