NEW YORK ( MainStreet) – Daily fantasy sports sites DraftKings and FanDuel aren't airing hundreds of ads apiece just out of boredom: there's a whole lot of money behind that wall of commercials.
Last week was especially trying for the two largest sites in daily fantasy sports. After spending $100 million combined in September on 9,000 weekly ads -- including nearly three dozen aired during 12 hours of NFL broadcasts -- DraftKings and FanDuel got some bad news. The New York Times reported that a DraftKings employee used private company data to win $350,000 on FanDuel.
