It has been two days, but Eagles fans are still upset with head coach Doug Pederson over his controversial play call late in Sunday night’s 29-23 overtime loss against the Cowboys.
Midway through the fourth quarter, with the Eagles up by a touchdown and within field-goal range, Pederson inexplicably called a screen pass to Darren Sproles that lost six yards. That turned a 47-yard field-goal attempt by Caleb Sturgis into a 53-yard attempt, leading Pederson to decide to punt and pin the Cowboys deep in their own end.
Of course, the Cowboys ended up driving 90 yards and scoring the game-tying field goal, leading to questions about Pederson’s play-calling that have reverberated days after the loss.
