Dissecting the drive that doomed Eagles vs. Redskins

FIFTEEN PLAYS, 90 yards; 5 minutes, 39 seconds.

Those were the particulars of the Washington drive Sunday that took the Eagles from flawed-but-viable, in position to limp away from FedEx Field at 2-2, to 1-3, plunging them into a world of massive scorn, disappointment, censure and obloquy. Big-time obloquy, for sure.

Eagles defensive coordinator Bill Davis has watched the tape. He knows how easily Washington quarterback Kirk Cousins sliced through Davis' battered troops, facing third down only twice, once at third-and-1, once at third-and-6, converting both. He knows the Redskins amassed eight of their 25 first downs and 41 of their 127 rushing yards on this defining march toward what would become only their second touchdown of the day, in a 23-20 victory.
