Davis Happy For Kendricks

Real or not, all of the speculation about linebacker Mychal Kendricks not being long for the Eagles was put to rest Monday when he agreed to a four-year, $29 million contract extension with the team.

According to league sources, Kendricks’ new deal has $16.4 million in guarantees. He will receive $16 million of that in the first two years of the deal, which runs through 2019.

“It’s a great move,’’ defensive coordinator Bill Davis said Tuesday morning. “We’re real excited about Mychal.

“Mychal, like most guys who get their second contract, it gives you peace of mind and an ability to relax your mind a little bit and not worry about lifelong security.
