THE COWBOYS added their first free agent Thursday, signing former Eagles defensive lineman Cedric Thornton on a four-year contract worth up to $18 million; $6 million is fully guaranteed, the Dallas Morning News reported.
The addition from Dallas' NFC East rival comes a day after the Cowboys re-signed middle linebacker Rolando McClain. The Dallas defense is looking for more impact plays after struggling to help the team during a 4-12 season played mostly without injured quarterback Tony Romo.
The undrafted Thornton has four career sacks, one in each of the past four seasons with the Eagles.
