As I’m sure you’ve heard by now, the NFL is implementing yet more rule changes in the name of player safety. More specifically, their aim is to reduce concussions in light of all the public concern surrounding CTE (Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy).
Concussions are an injury that shouldn’t be taken lightly. The cumulative effect can ultimately have lifetime consequences that include CTE, among other things.
The rule changes for this year include kickoffs, where the main change is that players on the kickoff team will be up at the line of scrimmage, eliminating the running start before the ball is kicked.
