Change on offense has been too much for Eagles

On Monday, Chip Kelly insisted it was five and not six new starters that he has on offense. By Wednesday morning, that number had dropped to four.

"We actually only made four changes on offense," Kelly said when he spoke to Tampa reporters. "I think that gets a little bit overblown in terms of wholesale changes. We made the same amount of changes I think on defense as we did on offense."

If the number was four, then, yes, the Eagles offense has as many new starters as its defense. But the number is five, and when you dig deeper, the changes Kelly made in the offseason have been more significant on offense than defense; and, perhaps most important, more significant than the changes the team had made a year prior.
