The second half of Sunday’s contest between the Eagles and Washington Redskins featured a peculiar situation for the Eagles. Long snapper Jon Dorenbos suffered a wrist injury on a third-quarter punt play, leaving the Eagles shorthanded at a very unique position.
Without Dorenbos, the next man up for the Eagles was Brent Celek, who had just a few moments to prepare for his first long snap of the season, and first since a preseason appearance two years ago, according to the veteran tight end.
Celek’s first effort came up a bit short, and Donnie Jones was unable to handle the ball, resulting in a negated field goal attempt.
