A Win To Complete Very Strong Preseason

In the course of four preseason games, during which the Eagles went 4-0, the team exhibited so much of what head coach Doug Pederson demands: The Eagles played hard. They were disciplined. They forced turnovers on defense, were opportunistic on offense and made big plays on special teams.

And most important, the Eagles emerged relatively unscathed in the injury department, the most crucial statistic of the preseason. They lost backup middle linebacker Joe Walker with a torn ACL and replaced him with veteran Stephen Tulloch.

Otherwise, the Eagles go into the September 11 opener against Cleveland whole, the Lane Johnson situation (more on that later) still to be determined.
