Earl Wolff said goodbye to his friends, walked down the sidewalk to his Range Rover, and climbed inside. A few moments later, he was staring down the barrel of an AK-47.

Thus begins the former Eagles' safety's remarkable essay about the night this offseason when he was carjacked in his hometown of Fayetteville, N.C., where he was in town to celebrate his mother's birthday.

"I step out and hand over my belongings," Wolff writes in the first-person account, published on SI.com's MMQB site. "Another man with a shotgun rushes toward me and shoves me into the back seat.
