The Philadelphia Eagles had planned to cut OG Allen Barbre. But that's not the case anymore, as they're instead shipping him off to the Denver Broncos for a future draft pick.
Rather than cutting veteran G Allen Barbe... the #Eagles are trading him to the #Broncos for a late conditional future pick, source said.

Adam Schefter adds it's a 7th round pick for the 2019 NFL Draft, w. It's surely a late round pick, one that the Eagles might not get if Barbre doesn't make the roster.
This type of deal happens occasionally in the NFL. A team leaks/reveals they're going to cut a player, which results in a team coming through with an offer to get him before he hits waivers.
Barbre was the Eagles' starter for 12 games last year at LG and RT, plus started all 16 the previous year at LG. However, Isaac Seumalo was declared the starter over Barbre as camp opens up.

Denver overhauled its offensive line this offseason and that continues with this trade. Barbre might not starter, but the veteran does offer backup ability at several spots up front. Is Barbre wants to start, his best bet might be at guard in a battle with Max Garcia, Connor McGovern and Michael Schofield. Ron Leary has one starting spot locked up. The Broncos will have plenty of competition for backup roles on the OL and adding Barbre gives them another option.
