The Eagles may have lost Nick Foles for the day (and possibly longer), but they won an important game for their playoff hopes.
Foles and backup Mark Sanchez combined for three touchdowns and 293 passing yards, WR Jeremy Maclin had a huge day and the Eagles moved into first place in the NFC East with their 31-21 win and the Cowboys' loss to Arizona.
Turning Point:
The Texans had pulled within three early in the fourth, but Sanchez put the game out of reach with an 8-yard strike to Jeremy Maclin with just under four minutes left in the game. The touchdown extended Philadelphia's lead to 10, and effectively iced the game for the Eagles.
Eagles MVP:
Despite the chaotic day at QB, Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin was at the top of his game. Maclin finished with six catches for 158 yards and 2 TDs, this was his second consecutive game with over 150 yards and two touchdowns.
Texans MVP:
JJ Watt was his usual MVP self, but we have to hand it to less-heralded Texans LB Whitney Mercilus. Mercilus had nine tackles, two sacks, and three QB hits on the day, and he continues to quietly add steel to the Texans front seven.
What's Next?
The Eagles now have control of the NFC East with the Cowboys' loss, and they return home to face the Carolina Panthers on Monday Night Football. The Texans get their bye week to rest up, and after that they'll travel to Cleveland for a matchup with the Browns.
