Free agent running back DeMarco Murray reached out to Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly, telling him he was interested in playing in his spread offense with college roommate Sam Bradford, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen.
As a result, Philly has ramped up their pursuit of the NFL's leading rusher, even though they signed former Chargers RB Ryan Mathews earlier today.
Kelly has made it clear that he won't overpay for anyone and will be prudent in making personnel decisions, so chances are Murray is going to have to lower his asking price if he wants to play for the Eagles.
The Dallas Cowboys, Murray's former team, are keeping a close eye on Murray and would like to re-sign him, but they've had limited contact with him to this point.
