The NFL schedule for next season has just been released, so here are the three biggest match-ups for the Philadelphia Eagles heading into their 2014 schedule:
Sunday, September 28th at San Francisco 49ers
A match-up of early NFC title contenders at the 49ers' new Levi's Stadium could end up being a portent of things to come in the NFC playoffs.
Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly's offense is built for a quarterback like 49ers starter Colin Kaepernick. However, incumbent starter Nick Foles isn't any slouch either, and this one should be a top-tier showdown by the Bay.
Sunday, December 7th vs. Seattle Seahawks
The defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks are the measuring stick. If the Eagles want to skyrocket to the next level, making a statement at home against the Seahawks will go a long way in doing that.
If the Eagles can contain the Seahawks running game, while utilizing newcomer Darren Sproles to peak efficiency, there is no reason why the Eagles can't use this home tilt as a springboard for better things to come.
Sunday, December 28th at New York Giants
This could end up being for the NFC East crown if things break right for the New York Giants and their retooled defense.
If so, then we are in for another storied chapter in one of the fiercest and most fun to watch in professional sports today. Popcorn, anyone?
