The Sixers did all they could to acquire a draft pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. Alas, no team was willing to sell one in an uncertain CBA climate.
Ricky Council IV, who the Sixers signed as an undrafted free agent, has already helped lessen the sting. Out of the 58 players selected that night, Council saw more action in games (32) than 26 of them. Not bad for an undrafted guy playing on a contending team.
Council displayed his freakish athleticism, strength and toughness throughout the NBA season. He showed that he can step in and affect a game, no matter the circumstances.
