For De’Anthony Melton, the 2023-24 season will largely be one to forget. Ruled by frequent back issues, Melton played just 38 games in the regular season. After missing five weeks from Jan. 12 to Feb. 22, he was only able to return for three games before another five-week absence. When he finally returned on Apr. 9, he tallied just 28 total minutes to end the season, including a move to the bench and just seven minutes in the first round against the Knicks.
As unfortunate as it is, games played is the most important stat to consider when assessing Melton’s season.
