Ulis wears No. 3 in honor of Iverson

Tyler Ulis said he’s been wearing the No. 3 jersey all his life.

But …

“I wouldn’t get it here,” the former Kentucky point guard said following Tuesday’s 76ers predraft workout at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

That’s because it's the retired number of former Sixers guard Allen Iverson, who was elected into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in April. But Ulis wasn’t complaining. Iverson is actually the reason why he wears the jersey number.

So it would be an honor to play for Iverson’s former team.

Like Iverson, Ulis is small in stature.
