In the 2023-24 season, Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey earned himself his first NBA All-Star nod and the league’s Most Improved Player award.
Tough act to follow, but Maxey is going to have to. The good news is, he’s proven time and time again that impressive year-over-year improvement is the name of his game.
Try to remember that it’s been just one year since the Sixers traded point guard James Harden. Less than a year, in fact. Harden was officially sent from Philadelphia to the Los Angeles Clippers on November 1, 2023. The Sixers had just a handful of days before embarking on the beginning of their 2023-24 season without Harden, leaving Maxey to fill the playmaking void once filled by the 10-time All-Star who averaged 10.
