Following the hiring of Darryl Morey’s right-hand man, Sam Hinkie in July, 2013 the Philadelphia 76ers underwent one of, if not, the most audacious rebuilding jobs in sports history. Dubbed ‘The Process’ by former player Tony Wroten, Hinkie traded veteran pieces for draft picks. The goal: to change the fortunes of a mediocre NBA team.
Hinkie had a clear vision in his mind, not many understood exactly what that was at the time. In his introductory press conference, Hinkie repeatedly stated that fixing the 76ers weren’t going to be a quick fix and that it would be a long process.
