Monday night’s opener was a rousing success for the Summer Sixers. In their 102-92 win over Oklahoma City, both of the team’s recent draft picks showed out. Jared McCain had an off shooting night from the perimeter, but showed a diverse game in getting to the rim and distributing. Adem Bona flashed a great motor and a willingness to dunk on everybody. Meanwhile, Ricky Council IV returned to Summer League older and wiser, and exploded for 19 points in the fourth quarter alone. His three-point shot has clearly improved from where it was coming out of college, and if that stays consistent, we’ll be seeing him regularly with the big club during the upcoming season.
