The godfather of Philadelphia basketball, Sonny Hill has seen a lot of dominant players over the 60-plus years of involvement in basketball.
So folks listen when Hill makes comparisons to the all-time greats. On Saturday night, the 76ers executive advisor and founder of the Sonny Hill League compared Joel Embiid to arguably the best player ever.
Hill marveled over the rotation and soft touch on the Sixers center’s shot long before he played in his first NBA game.
“I said to him, you got a chance to be a young Wilt Chamberlain,” the 81-year-old said. “I’ve never ever told that to anybody before.
