After the Philadelphia 76ers were reported to be releasing Demetrius Jackson Sunday night, it became obvious that a two-way contract slot would open up for the team. It was widely speculated, from our own Sean Kennedy to Liberty Ballers community members and beyond, that Haywood Highsmith (of the Sixers’ G-League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats) could be the player to receive that available contract.
According to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Sixers will indeed utilize their available two-way contract on Haywood Highsmith:
Haywood Highsmith (@hay_iAMHigh) is scheduled to sign a two-way contract with the #Sixers today, according to multiple league sources.
