The “Dream Team” Sixers are no more.
The Sixers looked like one of the biggest winners of the 2024 offseason after signing Paul George, Caleb Martin, Andre Drummond and Eric Gordon (among others) in free agency. Instead, a relentless cascade of injuries submarined the 2024-25 Sixers, causing them to fall outside of the playoff picture halfway through the season.
The Sixers began disassembling their roster two days before the Feb. 6 NBA trade deadline by trading Caleb Martin to the Dallas Mavericks for Quentin Grimes and their own 2025 second-round pick. They continued the following day with a shameless salary dump of KJ Martin on Wednesday.
