AMHERST, Mass. – It was the perhaps the biggest question pertaining to Tuesday night's 76ers preseason opener against Boston at the University of Massachusetts' Mullins Center: How many minutes will Joel Embiid be allowed to play?
“I think just 12 minutes,” coach Brett Brown said after Tuesday's shootaround. “I have a 12-minute budget, and I’m probably going to spend it in the first aisle that I come to. I feel like I’m going to use that up in the first half.”
Brown’s mindset is to just play him early and sit him in the second half.
Embiid’s action will come in four-minute clumps or less, said Brown.
