In a second unsurprising move, JP Tokoto has been cut from the Sixers 15 man roster.
According to Bob Cooney, Brett Brown acknowledged that Tokoto has been released along with Pierre Jackson, whose release we had previously reported. Tokoto's release is predictable, as he barely played in pre-season, registering only 10 minutes a game in his five games. He was relatively unproductive in that time, as his offensive skills were just too raw to deal with NBA caliber defenders.
While Tokoto has decent potential down the line to become a two-way player, he did himself no favors by rejecting a longer-term contract and merely signing the obligatory one-year tender offered to draft picks.
