Sixers on hook for nearly $26 million after latest cuts

The 76ers waived Pierre Jackson on Monday morning.

The reserve point guard played in only three of the seven preseason games because he was hampered by a groin injury. Because of the injury, Jackson was unable to show the explosiveness that had helped him become a standout player at Baylor.

He made just 1 of 14 shots and went 0 for 6 on three-pointers en route to scoring a total of six points. Jackson does receive $750,000 in guaranteed money.

This marks the second time the Sixers waived the 5-foot-10, 180-pounder in as many years. The franchise acquired his rights in a trade with the New Orleans Pelicans during the 2014 NBA draft.
