Those Sixers fans worried that new president of basketball Bryan Colangelo is going to doom the club to a salary-cap Hades by being active in free agency need not worry.
Colangelo is certainly going to try to use free agency as one of the tools to improve a team that is 47-199 over the last three years, including 10-72 this season, but offering a lot of money doesn’t mean a player has to accept it.
It seems like every other day, the cap advantage former president of basketball operations/general manager Sam Hinkie so dutifully tried to create for the Sixers is becoming less of a factor.
