Sixers lose game that should have been postponed despite career day for Tyrese Maxey

I’ll make this quick. For some reason (money), the NBA forced the Sixers to play its scheduled game versus the Denver Nuggets today despite shooting guard Seth Curry’s positive test from late Thursday night. The league apparently decided to pick and choose exactly who ought to be deemed a “close contact” with Curry, and as luck would have it, they cleared just enough players for the game to go on!

Then, of course, Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons bowed out, and head coach Doc Rivers said he really did not think the game should be played. Rivers had to make Mike Scott a member of the team’s active roster, yet refused to play Scott, who’s not yet fully healed from a knee injury.
