Sixers rookie center Joel Embiid appears to be heading for surgery on his knee, according to a report from ESPN NBA insider Marc Stein.

Embiid was shut down for the season on March 1, after the Sixers reviewed the results on an MRI of Embiid's left knee following a meniscus tear.
Embiid has been sidelined since suffering what was originally diagnosed as a knee contusion against the Houston Rockets on Jan.
