Sixers' Joel Embiid to miss Saturday's Wizards game

Washington Wizards fans hoping to get an in-person look at Joel Embiid will have to settling for seeing Nerlens Noel and Jahlil Okafor.

Embiid, the 76ers standout rookie center, will sit out Saturday night’s game against the Wizards at the Verizon Center. He is likely to play on Friday vs. the Charlotte Hornets at the Wells Fargo Center.

The 7-foot-2, 270-pounder did not practice Thursday because he sprained his left ankle late in the first half of Wednesday’s 98-97 victory over the New York Knicks. Embiid played in the second half and said he was fine after the game.
