Sixers center Joel Embiid and forward Dario Saric were named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team on Monday, becoming the first pair of teammates to accomplish that feat since 2008.
Embiid appeared in only 31 games, but flashed plenty of star power during his first NBA action after being sidelined the past two seasons while recovering from a pair of surgeries to repair a fractured foot suffered during a pre-draft workout ahead of the 2014 NBA Draft when he was chosen No. 3 overall by the Sixers.
Prior to being shutdown for the season with a torn meniscus, Embiid finished the season averaging 20.
