Sixers’ Joel Embiid and Paul George ruled out for Wednesday night contest vs. Pistons

The Philadelphia 76ers returned from their quick two-game road trip after Sunday’s win over the Indiana Pacers and were back to practice on Tuesday. That meant time for an update regarding Joel Embiid and Paul George!

Not the most exciting update came, unfortunately. Both Embiid and George have been ruled out for the team’s Wednesday contest hosting former teammate Tobias Harris and the Detroit Pistons, the Sixers announced Tuesday.

Embiid and George have both missed the first three games of the regular season to this point and will now miss the fourth. George missing games wasn’t the biggest shock after he suffered a visible bone bruise in his left knee during a preseason contest, but Embiid’s absence (chalked up to injury management for his left knee) was a bit more surprising for fans.
