Sixers’ JJ Redick will play in Friday’s NBA China game

The shooting guard missed the event's Media Day, Fan Day event, and team practice Thursday because of gastroenteritis. At that time, he was listed as questionable for the game. However, coach Brett Brown said Friday that Redick would play.

He avoided becoming the fifth Sixer to miss the game. Wilson Chandler (strained left hamstring), Jerryd Bayless (sprained left knee), Zhaire Smith (Jones fracture, left foot), and Norvel Pelle (gastroenteritis) did not make the trip to China for the two matchups against the Mavericks. The team will conclude the trip after Monday's game against the Mavs in Shenzhen at the Shenzhen University Center.
