NEW ORLEANS – The 76ers on Thursday acquired center Joel Anthony from the Houston Rockets and a future second-round pick for the rights of overseas player Chu Maduabum. The 2017 pick the Sixers receive comes from the Denver Nuggets.
The Sixers roster stands at 16 players. They are unsure if they will keep Anthony, who was traded twice on Thursday. The Houston Rockets acquired him earlier in the day in a trade with the Detroit Pistons. Anthony makes $2.5 million this season, and the Sixers will have a team option for $2.5 million next season.
In other trade news involving the Sixers, the Milwaukee Bucks expressed interest in reacquiring reserve point guard Kendall Marshall, according to Yahoo Sports.
