Trevon Duval entered the 2017-18 season as a projected lottery pick. The Uber-athletic point guard was set to lead one of the most potent offenses in college basketball, playing the role of set-up man for Marvin Bagley III, Wendell Carter Jr. and Grayson Allen.
That’s not quite how things played out. Duval struggled mightily all season, finding himself benched in crucial moments and falling out of the first round on most draft boards. Even with his damaged stock, though, Duke’s incoming recruiting class essentially forced Duval into the draft.
Now he’s looking at the possibility of a second round selection.
