Sixers draft profile: Trae Young

One of the best stories in college basketball last season was Trae Young. The diminutive guard from Oklahoma was never considered a one-and-done prospect in high school, but quickly put up numbers that challenged some of the all-time greats at the collegiate level.

His production fell off toward the back end of the season, but his overall output remained impressive. He led college basketball in points (27.4) and assists (8.7) per game, all while carrying a subpar Sooners team to the NCAA tournament.

Young’s ups and downs coincided with significant scrutiny from the media. There have been talent evaluators on both sides of the spectrum with Young — some pointing out his upside and dubbing him a top-three prospect, while others have dropped him outside their top 10.
