The 2018-19 NBA season began with a 105-87 loss for the Sixers on the road in Boston. This first game doesn't necessarily set the tone for the whole season as the team will play 81 more games, and they will be back in action on Thursday as they host Chicago at the Well Fargo Center, 8 p.m. on TNT.
Joel Embiid has spoken publicly on being the main ingredient toward the Sixers success, as he played bully ball on Boston, however it wasn't enough with Embiid shooting 9-21 in 36 minutes. He poured in 23 points, and hauled in 10 rebounds.
