NEW YORK – The 76ers acquired another center.
The Orlando Magic drafted Latvian 7-foot-2 post player Anzejs Pasecniks with the 25th picks and traded him to the Sixers for a future first-round pick. The first rounder is a protected 2020 first-rounder, according to NBA.com. So it’s protected in picks 1 through 20. It would turn into two second rounders if the pick doesn’t convey.
The 21-year-old averaged 7.8 points, 3.1 rebounds this past season in Spain.
The Sixers already have Joel Embiid, Jahlil Okafor, Richaun Holmes and Shawn Long on the roster.
Pasecniks said he has two years remaining on his contract with Gran Canaria.
