Sergio Rodriguez out tonight with gastroenteritis

AUBURN HILLS - It’s not usual for a team to have a player out with an injury or sickness every night. It really isn’t, but the Sixers just make it seem that way.

It was known going into Sunday’s game against the Detroit Pistons that neither Joel Embiid or Jerryd Bayless would be playing. Neither made the trip north as Embiid has minor inflammation in his right elbow and Bayless is still battling a wrist with torn ligaments. What wasn’t known was that starting point guard Sergio Rodriguez would come down with gastroenteritis, which forced him to stay back at the team hotel during the game.
