Sampson agrees to deal with Nuggets

The 76ers' plan didn't go the way they wanted it to.

That’s because JaKarr Sampson agreed to a two-year deal with the Denver Nuggets on Monday instead of waiting to resign with the Sixers. The 6-foot-9 guard’s deal will run through the end of next season.

The Sixer waived him on Thursday to make temporary room for Joel Anthony on their 15-man roster. That’s the day the Sixers acquired Detroit Pistons center Joel Anthony and a 2017 second-round draft pick in a three-team deal that included the Houston Rockets.
