The Sacramento Kings and Vlade Divac have fired Kings’ head coach Dave Joerger, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. Joerger’s squad has overachieved by all preseason expectations, but Divac is apparently looking to consolidate power within the organization, which made Joerger the odd man out.
So why should Sixers fans care about what’s going on out west? According to Woj, the Kings are considering Sixers Assistant Coach Monty Williams to replace Joerger. Woj also indicated that Williams will draw head coaching interest around the league.
Joerger engineered the Kings most successful season since 2006, but Divac is consolidating power around himself.
