Anthony Davis lit Twitter ablaze Monday morning, formally requesting a trade from the New Orleans Pelicans. Many were quick to hop on the Davis-to-Philadelphia 76ers train, citing the unique fit and upside of a Joel Embiid-AD frontcourt.
While the idea is fun — putting the league’s best big men together would produce quite the spectacle — it doesn’t appear as though the Sixers harbor serious interest. According to Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes, Philadelphia “currently has no plans to pursue a deal.”
Things change at a rapid pace in the NBA, but it’s unlikely the Sixers trade for Davis straight-up.
