The Philadelphia 76ers (12-9) lost to the Boston Celtics 108-97 in Thursday night’s matchup. While there are various reasons Philly lost its second game against Boston this season, one that stands out to me was the poor shooting of Robert Covington, especially from the perimeter.
While he finished the game with 11 points, Covington made just four of his 13 field goal attempts, including just 3-10 shooting from deep. In a game in which Philly didn’t have the services of Joel Embiid, the Sixers definitely needed better production from Covington, especially going up against a team in Boston (19-4) who holds the best record in the NBA.
