Midway through the third quarter of Monday’s preseason game between the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Ben Simmons made the trip to Philadelphia and underwent a COVID-19 test, per NBA protocol.
Earlier in the day, Wojnarowski broke the news that the Sixers and Simmons’ agent, Rich Paul, had progressed toward a resolution that would bring the All-Star back to town. Although Simmons has arrived in Philadelphia, it’s no guarantee that such a development will be succeeded by a return to the court, despite the organization’s wishes.
Sixers are hopeful to start moving toward the next steps of a return with Simmons, per sources.
